Shadow Work

According to Carl Jung, we all have a shadow, a part of the subconscious that contains the parts we want to hide or perhaps are unaware of. I was inspired by the challenge of creating a visual representation of my continuing journey to discover my true self after my divorce. I worked with a limited palette to create a cohesive look between elements despite stepping away from traditional flesh tones. I strove to use expressive, loose brushwork, adding to the ethereal aesthetic of the work.
